Palworld

I ignored Palworld's Medicine Production job for most of my first playthrough, and I wish I'd looked up Palworld best medicine Pals sooner. A tower fight sent a Pal home Weakened, Sanity in the gutter, and my medicine chest turned out to be empty. That's when the question stops being abstract: which Pal should be sitting at that workbench, and how far behind is your current pick.

TL;DR: Silvance holds the highest confirmed Medicine Production Work Suitability in Palworld at Level 8, per Game8's dedicated ranking, but it only spawns as a single World Tree Alpha Boss. Lyleen Noct and Bellanoir Libero tie for Level 7 and are far easier to actually catch. Beyond the top tier, 43 total Pals carry a Medicine Production suitability, plus 4 catchable human NPCs (Dr. Brawn, Black Marketeer, and Medal Merchant can all be assigned to the job; Legendary Pharmacist appears in the rankings but can't be captured). You'll need a Medieval Medicine Workbench at minimum, and the Electric Medicine Workbench roughly doubles crafting speed once you have electricity running.

Palworld best medicine Pals? (quick answer)

Silvance ranks Level 8, the highest confirmed Medicine Production suitability in the game, per Game8's ranking. Lyleen Noct and Bellanoir Libero tie for Level 7 right behind it. Mycora, Wistella, Selyne, and Dandilord round out Level 6. Any of these four will run a medicine line noticeably faster than the Level 1 to 3 Pals most players default to early on.

Palworld medicine Pals: key takeaways

  • 43 Pals carry a confirmed Medicine Production Work Suitability, spanning Level 1 through Level 8, per Game8's dedicated ranking page.
  • Silvance is the only Level 8, but it's a single World Tree Alpha Boss encounter, not a common wild spawn.
  • Lyleen Noct and Bellanoir Libero tie for Level 7 and are both realistic catches, which makes either the practical top pick for most players.
  • 4 catchable human NPCs also carry Medicine Production values: Dr. Brawn, Black Marketeer, and Medal Merchant can all be assigned to the job. Legendary Pharmacist shows up in the same rankings but is a fixed merchant you can't capture.
  • The Medieval Medicine Workbench is the only hard requirement. It's a Tier 12 unlock costing 2 tech points, 30 Wood, 5 Nails, and 10 Paldium Fragments.

The best medicine production Pals in Palworld (Level 5 to 8)

These eleven Pals sit above everything else on Game8's Medicine Production ranking. If you're rebuilding a base clinic from scratch, this is the list to catch from.

Level 8: Silvance. A Grass-element Pal added in the July 9, 2026 1.0 update, confirmed at HP 140 / Attack 120 / Defense 110. It also carries Level 6 Planting and Level 6 Handiwork, so it's a genuinely flexible base worker beyond just medicine. The catch: Silvance spawns as a Level 78 Field Alpha Boss in the World Tree's southwestern area, near the Shrinespore Root fast travel point, not as a common wild encounter. Bring gear built for an alpha fight, not a Pal Sphere and hope.

Level 7: Lyleen Noct and Bellanoir Libero. Lyleen Noct also runs Level 6 Gathering and Level 5 Handiwork, and unlike Silvance it shows up as a regular wild spawn rather than a one-off boss, which is the real reason most guides treat it as the practical top pick over the Level 8 alpha. Bellanoir Libero, confirmed at HP 120 / Attack 150 / Defense 100, adds Level 6 Handiwork and Level 4 Transporting, and its Nightmare Bloom attack (up to 2.5x damage at max partner skill) makes it just as useful in a fight as it is at a workbench, per our Palworld best pals tier list, where the same base stat line shows up under its combat entry.

Level 6: Mycora, Wistella, Selyne, and Dandilord. Dandilord is a confirmed 1.0 addition, a Grass/Dark Pal whose partner skill poisons enemies on hit while granting the whole party poison immunity, genuinely useful in the World Tree's toxic gas zones according to the tier list breakdown. The other three are proven pre-1.0 picks that got folded into this tier.

Level 5: Splatterina, Venusa, Lyleen, and Bellanoir. Lyleen is the base form Grass Pal. I couldn't pin down a published HP figure for it as precise as its Noct variant's, but the flower-headed design is instantly recognizable riding through the game's stone ruins. Bellanoir shares Bellanoir Libero's exact stat line (HP 120 / Attack 150 / Defense 100) with a different signature move, Nightmare Ray instead of Nightmare Bloom.

Two Level 5 or higher picks covering your medicine bench is enough for most single-player bases. Multiplayer servers running 4 or more active players burn through Recovery Meds faster, and that's when a second dedicated medicine Pal starts paying for itself.

GODEEPER: For the full picture of which Pals are worth prioritizing for combat and mounts instead of base jobs, our Palworld best pals tier list covers 20 verified S-tier picks from the same post-1.0 roster.

All 43 Medicine Production Pals, ranked by level

The full list below comes from Game8's dedicated Medicine Production ranking, cross-checked against the official Palworld Wiki's Medicine Production category and individual Pal entries for the picks named above. Four additional entries in the source ranking are catchable human NPCs rather than Pals, marked below. A fifth human entry, Legendary Pharmacist, appears in the same rankings at Level 4 but is documented as a fixed merchant, not something you can actually assign to your base.

LevelName
8Silvance
7Lyleen Noct, Bellanoir Libero
6Mycora, Wistella, Selyne, Dandilord
5Splatterina, Venusa, Lyleen, Bellanoir
4Legendary Pharmacist* (fixed merchant, not catchable), Elizabee, Petallia, Petallia Ignis, Icelyn, Gildra, Bakemi, Dupin, Loomen
3Dr. Brawn* (human NPC, catchable), Felbat, Vaelet, Lovander, Katress, Katress Ignis, Majex, Sibelyx, Sibelyx Primo, Lullu, Prunelia
2Bristla, Cinnamoth, Beegarde, Tarantriss, Robinquill Terra, Prixter, Prixter Lux, Dogen
1Black Marketeer* (human NPC, catchable), Medal Merchant* (human NPC, catchable), Lifmunk, Jellroy, Wispaw, Robinquill, Flopie, Dazzi Noct

Two nearly identical rabbit-eared Pals, one pink and one blue, stand side by side in front of a Japanese shrine with cherry blossoms in bloom Sibelyx and its Sibelyx Primo color variant share the same base design, and both land at Level 3 Medicine Production.

A few of the Level 3 and below entries are worth knowing even if they're not your first pick. Katress, a Dark-element cat-styled Pal, doubles as a capable Handiwork worker, so it's a reasonable placeholder if you haven't caught anything higher yet. Sibelyx and Sibelyx Primo share the same base design (an Ice and a Neutral-element color variant of the same Pal), both landing at Level 3, which makes either a safe pick if you already breed one for its other stats. Felbat, a Dark-type with a vampiric bat design, is genuinely S-tier for combat lifesteal per the tier list above, and its Level 3 Medicine Production is a decent bonus if you're already running it in your party.

Katress, a blue and black cat-styled humanoid Pal, poses on a sandstone rooftop beside a pale blue fox-like Pal and two purple round Pals Katress sits at Level 3 Medicine Production, a reasonable fallback pick while you're still working toward something higher on this list.

Medicine workbenches: which tier you need

You cannot craft medicine without a workbench, and a Pal with the right Work Suitability does nothing standing next to an empty crafting station. Three tiers exist:

Medieval Medicine Workbench. Tier 12 on the tech tree, 2 tech points to unlock. Building one costs 30 Wood, 5 Nails, and 10 Paldium Fragments, a trivial cost by mid-game standards. This is the only workbench most single-player bases actually need, and it produces every basic medicine tier: Low Grade Medical Supplies, Medical Supplies, High Grade Medical Supplies, and the four Recovery Meds tiers.

Electric Medicine Workbench. Tier 43, 3 tech points. It needs an electricity connection to run, but roughly doubles crafting speed compared to the medieval version, according to the Palworld Wiki. Worth the upgrade once your base already has a power grid for other production lines.

Advanced Medicine Workbench. Tier 61, 4 tech points, also electricity-dependent. It unlocks further down the tree and is aimed at players deep into endgame automation rather than anyone still catching their first medicine Pal.

Only one Pal can work a given bench at a time, so a single Level 7 or 8 Pal on a Medieval Medicine Workbench will out-produce two Level 2 Pals splitting shifts on the same station. Assign your best, don't stack mediocre ones.

Step-by-Step: setting up a medicine production line

  1. Unlock the Medieval Medicine Workbench in the Technology menu (Tier 12, 2 points) and place it inside your base's work radius.
  2. Assign a Pal with Medicine Production suitability to the base. Anything Level 4 or higher will noticeably outpace a Level 1 or 2 assignment on the same recipe.
  3. Queue Low Grade Medical Supplies or Medical Supplies first. These use the cheapest materials (Ingot, Horn, Bone) and cover the ailments you'll actually see early: colds, sprains, ulcers, and fractures.
  4. Keep the material supply chain fed. Ingot needs a Furnace and ore, and Horn/Bone come from combat drops, so a medicine line stalls fast if nobody's restocking the inputs.
  5. Upgrade to the Electric Medicine Workbench once your base has power. The roughly 2x speed gain matters most once you're running multiplayer or fighting towers regularly and burning through Recovery Meds faster than one Pal can replace them.
  6. Feed spare copies into a Pal Essence Condenser to push your assigned Pal's suitability higher over time, up to 4 uses per Pal and a hard ceiling of Level 10 across the game.

What medicine actually cures

Not every Palworld ailment needs the same tier of medicine, and crafting the wrong one wastes materials your base could use elsewhere.

  • Low Grade Medical Supplies treats minor issues: colds and sprains.
  • Medical Supplies (3 Ingot, 3 Horn, 1 Bone) treats Ulcers and Fractures.
  • High Grade Medical Supplies (5 Ingot, 5 Horn, 2 Bone) is needed for the Weakened and Depressed status effects, both of which show up on Pals whose Sanity has dropped too far.
  • Recovery Meds, in four escalating tiers (Low Quality through Advanced), restore HP directly rather than curing a specific status.
  • Suspicious Juice and Strange Juice boost a Pal's mood or work speed, but lower Sanity as a tradeoff, so they're a short-term fix, not something to keep a Pal on permanently.

Crafting runs on a fixed workload system rather than a flat timer. One documented example on the official wiki: Memory Wiping Medicine takes 6 hours at a Level 1 suitability, but only 42 minutes at Level 3, which is roughly the gap you'd expect between a Lifmunk on your medicine bench and something in the Level 3 to 4 range like Felbat or Petallia.

r/Palworld's own 1.0 base-Pal reference threads back this up anecdotally. One highly-upvoted "best base Pals" post from July 2026 spends most of its comment section on players comparing exactly this kind of suitability-level tradeoff, and pointing newer players toward the Pal Essence Condenser as the way to raise a low-level Pal's numbers instead of catching a new one from scratch.

GODEEPER: If you're planning to breed toward a specific medicine Pal rather than chase a rare wild spawn, our Palworld breeding and cake farming guide covers which cake type actually speeds up the process.

Tips for a smooth medicine production setup

Don't chase Silvance as your first pick. A Level 78 World Tree Alpha Boss is a genuinely hard early fight, and Lyleen Noct's Level 7 suitability covers almost the same production speed from a Pal you can catch in a normal zone.

Pair your medicine Pal with a Gathering or Handiwork Pal on the same base, not two medicine specialists. Several of the top picks (Lyleen Noct, Bellanoir Libero, Silvance) already double as strong Gathering or Handiwork workers, so a second dedicated medicine Pal is often redundant unless you're running a large multiplayer server.

Check whether your active Pal is actually working the bench, not just assigned to the base. A Pal with the right suitability sitting idle because it's out exploring with you produces nothing.

Don't sleep on the human NPCs. Dr. Brawn, Black Marketeer, and Medal Merchant all count as catchable and can be assigned to Medicine Production like any Pal, a detail most tier lists skip entirely because they're not technically Pals.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best medicine production Pal in Palworld? Silvance, at Level 8 Medicine Production, per Game8's dedicated ranking. It's a 1.0-added Grass Pal, but it only spawns as a single World Tree Alpha Boss, so Lyleen Noct (Level 7, regular wild spawns) is the more realistic top pick for most players.

How many Pals can do Medicine Production in Palworld? 43 actual Pals, plus 4 catchable human NPCs (Dr. Brawn, Black Marketeer, Medal Merchant, and Legendary Pharmacist) who also carry a Medicine Production Work Suitability value, per Game8's ranking. That's 47 total named entries across Levels 1 through 8.

What workbench do I need to craft medicine in Palworld? The Medieval Medicine Workbench, a Tier 12 technology unlock costing 2 tech points. It needs 30 Wood, 5 Nails, and 10 Paldium Fragments to build, and any Pal with Medicine Production suitability assigned to it can start crafting.

Does the Electric Medicine Workbench actually craft faster? Yes. The Electric Medicine Workbench (Tier 43, 3 tech points) runs on electricity and crafts roughly twice as fast as the base Medieval Medicine Workbench, per the Palworld Wiki. The Advanced Medicine Workbench (Tier 61) unlocks further down the tech tree.

Can human NPCs work at a Palworld medicine bench? Three of them, yes. Dr. Brawn, Black Marketeer, and Medal Merchant are all catchable human NPCs that can be captured with a Pal Sphere and assigned to base jobs, including Medicine Production. Legendary Pharmacist appears in the same rankings but is a fixed merchant, not a capturable worker.

How do I raise a Pal's Medicine Production level higher? Feed spare copies of the same Pal into a Pal Essence Condenser. Each use adds 1 to a chosen Work Suitability level, up to 4 uses per Pal, and the overall suitability ceiling across the game is Level 10.

What does Medical Supplies actually cure in Palworld? Medical Supplies treats Ulcers and Fractures. Low Grade Medical Supplies covers minor issues like colds and sprains, and High Grade Medical Supplies is needed for the Weakened and Depressed status effects that show up on Pals with low Sanity.
