The GTA 6 release date is Thursday, November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and it has held since Rockstar set it on November 6, 2025. GTA 6 release date: November 19, 2026

Rockstar's Newswire letter was short: "Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026." The studio added that it was "sorry for adding additional time" and that the extra months would let it finish the game "with the level of polish" players expect.

That was the second date change. On May 2, 2025, Rockstar had set May 26, 2026; four days later it released Trailer 2. Nothing official has moved since. Take-Two's August 7, 2026 earnings release lists GTA VI for November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and the Launch Trailer Rockstar posted on October 15 ends on the same date.

Rockstar hasn't published an unlock time for launch day. The last scheduled checkpoint before then is Take-Two's quarterly report on Monday, November 9. If you want the cluster's wider picture, from Leonida's regions to the two leads, our GTA 6 complete guide keeps it in one place.

GTA 6 price: Standard vs Ultimate Edition

Take-Two's June 24 release put the base game at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99. The PlayStation Store shows the same two prices.

EditionPriceFormatWhat you get
Standard$79.99Digital or code in boxGame plus pre-order bonuses
Ultimate$99.99Digital onlyGame, pre-order bonuses, Ultimate extras

Take-Two describes the Ultimate extras as "premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story." On Rockstar's edition page the list opens with a '95 Grotti Cheetah and runs through mod shops, Sara's Unisex Salon and the Electric Fang Tattoo Parlor. On r/GTA6, u/MrRoaldDahl had a naming note: "Ultimate Edition should have been called the Complete Edition so that R* could sell it as GTA VI:CE".

If you already bought the Standard Edition, you are not locked out: the PlayStation Store lists a separate "Ultimate Edition Upgrade" product. One r/GTA6 user who pre-ordered a physical Standard copy in Australia asked the same question, then edited the post: "indeed it can be done".

How to pre-order GTA 6, and what the bonuses are

GTA VI is on sale through the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, the Rockstar Games Store and retailers. Two bonuses depend on when and how you buy:

  • Vintage Vice City Pack: every pre-order or purchase made before November 20, 2026. Rockstar's edition page says it holds a two-tone '55 Vapid Stanier sedan and garage, Ocean Beach, outfits and hairstyles for both Jason and Lucia, and a weapon pattern.
  • One month of GTA+: digital pre-orders only. On PlayStation you must pre-order before November 20 and claim it before March 31, and the subscription auto-renews, so cancel it if you don't want to pay.

Digital pre-orders can pre-load from November 12, a week ahead. The physical version is no disc install: Take-Two says the box contains "a download code" and goes on sale November 12 so that boxed buyers can pre-load too. The Ultimate Edition has no boxed version at all.

Rockstar's Goodtime State Vice City Collection is a different thing: a physical collector's box with a Macca the Gator figure, Oakley sunglasses and a New Era cap, sold on the Rockstar Store. Rockstar says "Grand Theft Auto VI game sold separately."

Is GTA 6 coming to PC?

No PC version has been announced. Rockstar's posts and Take-Two's releases name two platforms, and Take-Two's August 7 release table gives "PS5, Xbox Series X|S" for GTA VI, while the same table lists PC for NBA 2K27. The PlayStation listing adds that GTA VI is PS5 Pro Enhanced, and the Launch Trailer's end card says "Captured on PS5".

Rockstar has said nothing about timing, so any PC date you see is a guess. The open question is whether Take-Two says anything on November 9.

GTA 6 Online release date

There isn't one. Rockstar's June 24 pre-order post calls GTA VI "a single player experience," and neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has announced a GTA 6 online mode. The free GTA+ month in the pre-order bonus is for the GTA Online you can play now: Take-Two pitches it for "the ever-evolving world of GTA Online" and the GTA+ Games Library, which includes GTA V.

For what the two games share and where they differ on the confirmed record, see GTA 6 vs GTA 5.

Our take

The date has held for almost a year and three official sources repeat it, so we'd plan around November 19. Pre-ordering doesn't buy you a lower price: $79.99 is the listed launch price. Pre-order digitally only if you want the GTA+ month; a boxed copy bought on November 12 pre-loads just the same. Until launch, our co-op games list has six games you can play with friends now.

How we checked this

On October 28, 2026 we read Rockstar's Newswire posts on both delays, pre-orders, the Extended Look and the Launch Trailer, Take-Two's June 24 pre-order release and August 7 earnings release, the GTA VI edition page and the US PlayStation listing. We downloaded the 90-second Launch Trailer and read its end card frame at 1:24: "November 19, 2026, Pre-Order Now", an ESRB Mature 17+ badge and "Captured on PS5". A 210 GB download size, screenshotted from the PlayStation Game Size account on X, is circulating on r/GTA6; Rockstar hasn't published a size, so we don't count it as confirmed.
