Over the Hill release date and launch price

The offer is live on Steam and the store page says it ends October 28. Regional prices may differ. The official price announcement set the $24.99 US base price and said a launch discount would follow; the current Steam page now shows the checkout amount.

Funselektor's official Bluesky launch post says, “over the hill is out today on Steam!” The studio added that it self-published and self-funded the game, and thanked its team and partners.

The studio also posted an official launch trailer. We watched it for this update: at 0:42, two vehicles sit beside a red cabin in a dusk meadow. That brief frame sells the game's quiet travel mood, while the store details below answer the more practical launch questions.

Steam review count and Steam Deck status

At 16:14:22 UTC on October 14, Steam's appreviews endpoint with purchase_type=all returned total_reviews: 3, total_positive: 3, and total_negative: 0. Its exact descriptor was “3 user reviews.” The same response had num_reviews: 0 and an empty review list. A check of the English Steam store page around 16:14 UTC still displayed “All Reviews: No user reviews.”

Those readings do not agree, and the API provides no score. This snapshot reports its count and wording without calling them a consensus. Recheck the live listing as counts change.

Steam's exact Steam Deck label is Unknown. That is a store status, not a performance test.

Final Over the Hill PC requirements

Steam's final minimum requirements list Windows and SteamOS + Linux. On Windows, the game requires a 64-bit processor and operating system, Windows 10, an Intel Core i5-7400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 8 GB RAM, an Nvidia GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 5600, DirectX 11, broadband internet, and 4 GB of storage. Steam says the specs were tested at FullHD resolution.

The Linux minimum list repeats the same processor, memory, graphics, network, and storage targets, with the same FullHD note. Its panel has no operating-system or DirectX line. The Windows recommended panel only states that a 64-bit processor and operating system are required; it does not give a higher CPU, memory, or graphics target.

The store lists Windows and Linux, but this article reports the requirements exactly as Steam presents them. The complete guide hub tracks the other confirmed game details.

Console ports remain planned for 2027

The official release announcement says: “The console ports for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 will also follow in 2027.” It gives no exact date or platform beyond the pre-launch coverage, so there is no new console item to report separately.
