Lost Castle 2 Weapons Tier List: 9 Categories Ranked
The category you tell Serena to drop matters more than any single sword, and two categories make every run easier.
VerdictBuild around Dual Blades or Turbo Lances, keep a Single-Handed shield as the safety net, and treat Two-Handed as a veteran's pick.
The top of any honest Lost Castle 2 weapons tier list is Dual Blades and Turbo Lances, the two categories we'd build a run around: one is the fastest melee kit in the game, the other has the biggest ATK number we could source and aims itself. Single-Handed is the beginner's safety net, Staves and Muskets reward setup, and Two-Handed comes last for most players. With a weapon pool this wide, though, the real decision isn't which sword to keep. It's which categories you let drop at all, and that's set at Serena the Blacksmith in camp.

About the game
Lost Castle 2
Updated 2026-10-19: Corrected the weapon count (Steam lists over 200 weapons and armors combined, not 200 weapons) and the date of the Bow patch v0.9.2.3 (December 31, 2025). Added the 1.0.1.2 Golden Destroyer change, and swapped the Loaded price box for Eneba.
Lost Castle 2 weapons tier list at a glance
| Tier | Category | Standout weapon | Why it earns the spot |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | Dual Blades | Corrosive Dual Blades (49 ATK) | Fast combos, and the finisher deals an extra 18% damage |
| S | Turbo Lances | Celadon Lance (57 ATK) | Flame projectiles that target the closest enemy |
| A | Single-Handed | Magic Apprentice (41 ATK) | +55% shield attack and shield skill damage at full Block Points |
| B | Staves | Sacrificial Staff (31 ATK) | Corrosive souls that seek enemies; the spell does the work |
| B | Muskets | Golden Destroyer | Skill-driven Heat play that needs setup before it pays |
| C | Two-Handed | Iron Sword (30 ATK) | Charge Value on hit, but slow swings in crowded rooms |
| Not ranked | Katana | Ghost Muramasa | Boss-unlock and skill changes in patches; not enough comparative data |
| Not ranked | Phantom Lantern | Shadow of Chaos | Mech-riding special attacks; not enough comparative data |
| Not ranked | Bow | Misled Lord Bow | In the game since Early Access; no current ATK figure found |
The ATK values come from Pro Game Guides' full weapon list, built during Early Access and last updated in July 2024. Treat them as base numbers: weapons drop at different levels and the upgrade furnace in camp raises them.

S tier: Dual Blades
Dual Blades are the best all-round melee category. They attack fast, build Combo Points quickly, and dash further than any other weapon, which keeps you moving between packs instead of standing in them.
The one to hold is the Corrosive Dual Blades, whose finisher deals an extra 18% damage. Because Dual Blades hit so often, that finisher comes around constantly. The Iron Dual Blades you can start with are a better first weapon than they look. Pro Game Guides' tester held onto them for a while because of the Combo Points and attack speed, even while higher-ATK drops were on offer.
The weakness is range: you live inside enemy attack arcs. It's also the category players settle on without overthinking it. "I just use dual blades... Going pretty good for me so far," crimsonxmystx wrote in an r/LostCastle thread asking whether the game has a build meta.
S tier: Turbo Lances
Turbo Lances don't stab. They shoot things out of the end, and the Celadon Lance fires a cluster of flame projectiles into the air that target the closest enemy. That's the highest ATK figure on the list we could source, and it does the aiming for you.
The Sanctuary Lance is the early stepping stone: it shoots a beam of light at the nearest enemy, and basic attacks add extra damage. It's a weaker weapon than the Celadon, so the category's S rating rests mostly on finding the good lance. In co-op, a lance in the back line is our pick for the safest damage slot, since the projectiles don't need you near the fight.

A tier: Single-Handed
Single-Handed weapons are the survival category and the best beginner pick. A shield lets you block instead of dodging perfectly, and the Magic Apprentice turns that defense into damage: all shield attacks and shield skills deal 55% more while your Block Points are full. Keep blocking, keep your points topped up, and the "defensive" kit hits hard.
The Cooking Utensils are the early sleeper. They restore a small amount of Alchemy Elixir (your healing) after attacks. Single-Handed misses S tier only because its ceiling is lower than Dual Blades once you no longer need the shield.

B tier: Staves
Staves look weak on paper. The Sacrificial Staff releases corrosive souls that target enemies, and the Oak Staff casts a burning meteor fragment. In both cases the spell does the damage, so the low ATK undersells them.
They sit in B because they depend on the run. Staff builds want the right inscription and Mana treasures, and the ceiling is real: one Steam reviewer with about 160 hours called the Arcane Master inscription "way too broken," saying it "makes Nightmare 5 a 20 minute joke." Our advanced builds guide covers that endgame route. For a first clear, though, a staff without its inscription is a low-ATK stick. Also note that patch 1.0.1.2 cut the base drop rates of the Old Pagoda Tree Branch and Life Crystal staves.
B tier: Muskets
Muskets run on Heat. Skills build it (patch 1.0.0.7 raised the Heat from Dragon Blaster's skill from 60 to 100 and widened the Glacier Launcher's ice pillar explosion by 20%), and inscriptions such as the Special Gunner's Grenadier resonance spend it on grenades.
The standout is the Golden Destroyer. Patch 1.0.1.2 lets it roll out of the jump after its skill, cutting the stretch where you can't act after landing. September's Magicraft crossover also added the Fish Hunter, a musket with its own exclusive enchantment. Muskets land in B because the Heat loop asks for setup that Turbo Lances simply don't.

C tier: Two-Handed
Two-Handed weapons hit hardest per swing and still rank last for most players. Every attack is a commitment, and in crowded rooms a missed swing means eating hits. Pro Game Guides' tester found them "incredibly slow and clunky."
The standout is the Iron Sword, which gains Charge Value after hitting enemies, so your charge attacks get stronger and follow-ups land harder. Not everyone agrees with the C. In the same r/LostCastle meta thread, notaracisthowever pitched a two-hander with life on hit as "basically unkillable," adding that total damage "is usually highest just because you have nearly permanent dps uptime." That's a build for someone who already knows the enemy patterns. If that's you, try it; if not, keep it as a second weapon.
Katana, Phantom Lantern and Bow: confirmed, not ranked
Hunter Studio's patch notes name three more weapon types. We don't rank them because we couldn't find current ATK figures or enough comparative build data, and we'd rather leave a gap than guess.
- Katana. The 1.0 launch added the boss-unlocked Chaos Reaper. The Ghost Muramasa's skill no longer slows you, and it adds 10% dodge distance while active (beta patch v0.9.3.5). The Magicraft crossover added Jetstream No. XII, a tachi with its own enchantment.
- Phantom Lantern. Added in March 2025 as a new weapon type: 20 lanterns across 3 modules, with its own Dark Flame Walker's Inscription. The 1.0 launch added the boss-unlocked Shadow of Chaos, and since patch 1.0.0.7 lanterns with special normal attacks, such as Nightmare Puppet and Mjolnir, can trigger that inscription's resonance, Release of Fury.
- Bow. In the game since Early Access. Beta patch v0.9.2.3 (December 31, 2025) retuned the Thundering Ranger Inscription, and patch 1.0.0.17 made that inscription's Blast count as a Direct Attack. The February 2026 update added the Misled Lord Bow.
How to set your weapon drops
Serena the Blacksmith in camp lets you choose which weapons can drop on a run, so you can switch off the ones you never reach for. We'd keep it to three categories: Dual Blades, Turbo Lances, and Single-Handed as the fallback until your dodging is good enough to swap it for Staves. Leaving everything on means more runs holding weapons from the bottom of this list.
Mistakes we'd avoid
- Judging a staff by its ATK. The spell is the damage. Judge it by the effect line.
- Keeping the starting Iron Dual Blades forever. They're a good start, but swap once a Corrosive or another strong pair drops.
- Taking Two-Handed into co-op crowds as a beginner. With a team holding attention it's safer, but it still trails everything above it.
- Assuming a patch hasn't moved things. Lost Castle 2 has had patches roughly every week or two since 1.0. Check the notes before you commit to a niche weapon.
Is Lost Castle 2 still worth picking up?
Lost Castle 2 left Early Access on June 10, 2026, lists at $17.99 on Steam, and was Mostly Positive across 14,341 reviews when we checked on October 19. Hunter Studio said it passed a million copies sold on September 23, and the latest patch, 1.0.1.3, landed on September 30. Hunter Studio's 1.0 launch trailer shows the co-op mess this list is built for: at 0:29 it calls it "up to four player co-op chaos," and at 0:41 it cuts to the Camp Upgrade board.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best weapon category in Lost Castle 2? Dual Blades for melee and Turbo Lances for range. The Corrosive Dual Blades (49 ATK) add 18% damage on their finisher, and the Celadon Lance (57 ATK) fires flame projectiles that home in on the closest enemy.
Are Two-Handed weapons good in Lost Castle 2? They hit hard but swing slowly, so we rank them last for most players. The Iron Sword (30 ATK) builds Charge Value on hits for stronger follow-ups, and some players run tanky two-hander builds with life on hit, but it takes pattern knowledge to make it work.
What weapon should a beginner use in Lost Castle 2? A Single-Handed weapon with a shield. You can block instead of dodging perfectly, and the Magic Apprentice (41 ATK) raises shield attack and shield skill damage by 55% when your Block Points are full.
How do I choose which weapons drop in Lost Castle 2? Talk to Serena the Blacksmith in camp. She lets you set which weapons can drop on a run, so you can switch off the categories you never use.
