Moonlighter 2 guide hub: the shop and dungeon loop, price tiers, 6 bosses, 4 weapon types, 56 achievements, Steam Deck status and solo-only play.

About the game
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is a 3D shopkeeper action RPG, and this Moonlighter 2 guide is the hub for every page we have written about it. Below you will find the short version of how the game works, what each guide answers, and which parts of the game the public sources do and do not explain.
We built this cluster around what players actually search for since the September 2 release: price tiers, Dimensional Effects, weapons, bosses, achievements, multiplayer and Steam Deck settings. Where a mechanic is not documented by Steam, the developer or a page we could open, the guides say so instead of filling the gap. This hub follows the same rule.
What is Moonlighter 2? (quick answer)
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is the sequel to Digital Sun's shopkeeper action RPG, published by 11 bit studios and released on Steam on September 2, 2026. You run a shop, raid dungeons for relics, pack what you find into a limited backpack, set prices, and spend the profit on the next visible improvement. Steam lists it as a single-player Action, Adventure and RPG game for Windows at $29.99.
TL;DR: Moonlighter 2 is a single-player 3D shop-and-dungeon game on Steam for Windows ($29.99, September 2, 2026). The loop is raid, arrange the backpack, price and sell, then reinvest. This hub links nine guides: review, price tiers, tips, Dimensional Effects, weapons, bosses, achievements, multiplayer and Steam Deck.

Which guide to read first
The right starting point depends on what you are trying to do. These routes are the ones we would give a friend.
You just bought the game. Read the beginner tips first. They cover how to build a reliable first loop, what to sell and what to keep, and they send you to the price guide only when you need the exact tiers. Reading the price guide before you have played a few runs tends to bury the simple habit under a lot of detail.
Your shop is not earning what you expect. Go straight to the price guide. The tier system, the red stamp for Shop Perks and the backpack-position effects explain most of the gap between a good and a mediocre haul. If the loot itself feels flat, the Dimensional Effects guide shows which effects are verified and how they shape what reaches the shop.
A fight keeps ending your run. Use the bosses guide for the order of the six fights and the telegraphs the public sources confirm, then the weapons tier list if you suspect your weapon type is part of the problem. Change one thing at a time, because a boss that looks unfair is often a pattern you have not yet read.
You are chasing completion. Open the achievements guide and work through the entries with public conditions. It marks the eight entries whose triggers Steam does not publish, so you do not waste hours on a guess.
You want to play differently. The multiplayer guide answers the co-op question, and the Steam Deck guide covers handheld settings. If you are still deciding whether to buy, the review is the place to begin.
How the shop and dungeon loop fits together
Steam describes the loop in five verbs: explore, gather relics, manage the backpack, sell and reinvest. That is worth taking literally, because each step feeds the next. What you bring home depends on how you packed and how you fought. What you earn depends on how you priced. What you can buy next depends on what you earned.
The single most useful habit our guides agree on is to arrange a useful haul before chasing more loot. The backpack is not just storage, since the official description says careful arrangement unlocks item synergies. Our beginner guide turns that into nine rules, and it is the best place to start.
The shop floor: displayed relics carry visible prices, and a relic such as Sir Edwin changes the value of what you place in a display case next.
Prices, perks and relic effects
Pricing is the part of Moonlighter 2 that most players ask about first. Every relic sits on a slider with four tiers: Cheap, Perfect, Expensive and Overpriced. The tier decides both what a customer will pay and whether you earn a Shop Perk. Shop Perks only unlock at Cheap or Perfect, and the game marks that range with a red stamp on the price slider. Overpriced never unlocks one.
Relic effects trigger by backpack position, and the guide names five patterns: Corner, Left-Right, Top-Bottom, Pointed and Ongoing. On top of that each dimension adds its own pair of effects. Stacking those correctly is how players push relics toward 999 quality. All of the tier and position detail lives in the price guide, and we keep it there so it does not drift out of date in two places.
The Dimensional Effects guide answers the follow-up question. The verified loot layer covers Kalina's Armor and Burn, the Gallery's Shock and Overcharge, and Aeolia's Petrify and Absorb. Those effects can change what survives a run and how much quality reaches the shop. What the public sources do not give us is a single combat formula, so we do not treat Dimensional Effects as a universal damage multiplier, and neither should you.
The Incursion Completed screen shows the haul as a backpack grid, which is where arrangement and the value of each relic come together.
Weapons, bosses and combat
The confirmed weapon roster is four types, and our weapons tier list ranks them:
- Spear is S tier, the best general-purpose type, because reach and stored spearheads create safer damage windows.
- Sword is A tier, the most approachable all-rounder.
- Gauntlets are B tier and reward aggressive Berserk play.
- Long Sword is C tier, the most specialized and defensive pick.
Eight named aspects appear in official announcements, but we did not find an authoritative source that calls those eight the complete variant roster. So the tier list ranks the four types and marks the aspects as unconfirmed instead of inventing a longer ranking.
The bosses guide covers six fights in order: The Herald in Kalina Day, Thalaam in Kalina Night, The Curator and Tyke in the Gallery, then Senda and Monte in Aeolia. The safest facts to memorize are the published telegraphs, such as The Herald's six-shield loop, Thalaam's bell shield and Tyke's lasers and grenades. Thalaam is the real Night Realm boss, and Moloch is not one of the six. If you see a list that counts Moloch, that is the difference.
Achievements and completion
Steam lists 56 achievements for Moonlighter 2. The achievements guide walks through the confirmed list, which covers story milestones, bosses, shop upgrades, relic targets, numbered Endless Vault challenges, Ultimate challenges and completion goals. It also says plainly what is missing. Steam's public page does not confirm whether any achievement is missable, and it does not publish the triggers for eight entries. If you are chasing completion, plan around the entries with public conditions and treat the blank ones as unknown until Steam or the developer documents them.
Playing solo, and on Steam Deck
Moonlighter 2 is a single-player game. Steam's Features section lists Single-player only, and the multiplayer guide explains the rest of our check. We looked for a co-op mod on Nexus Mods, Thunderstore and the Steam Workshop and found no verified result. Search suggestions such as "will it have multiplayer" show that people are asking, not that anything has been announced.
For handheld play, Steam's own event labels the game Verified on Steam Deck. The Steam Deck guide gives the developer's dated advice: Low settings, FSR3 antialiasing and Balanced or Quality upscaling. The developer reported a solid 60 FPS in dungeons but dips to about 40 FPS in town and some dungeon sections after several hours. We treat community presets as experiments, not guarantees, and the guide separates what is officially supported from what players report.
Where the game stands right now
As of October 1, 2026, Steam shows Very Positive at 81% from 4,097 reviews, up from 1,601 reviews at 82% when we first checked on September 18. The score has held as the audience grew. The developer's Hotfix 1 on September 10 fixed legendary-chest rewards, a music restart bug and placeholder text, and the team said console improvements were next. Our review explains why we think the move to 3D works.
We only cover the Steam release. If you play elsewhere, check the store page for that version, because the numbers and settings in these guides come from the Steam listing and Steam's own posts.
Common mistakes across the guides
A few mistakes come up repeatedly in the questions we see, and each one is worth avoiding:
- Treating Dimensional Effects as a damage multiplier. They change loot and effects, but no public source gives a combat formula.
- Assuming the weapon roster is complete. Four types are confirmed. The named aspects are not confirmed as the whole list.
- Counting Moloch as a seventh boss. The documented count is six, and Thalaam is the Night Realm boss.
- Pricing everything as high as it will go. Only Cheap and Perfect unlock Shop Perks, so the highest number is not always the best result.
- Selling duplicates too early. Check what you still need for upgrades before you sell, especially with relics whose synergies you have not understood yet.
- Reading a search suggestion as an announcement. Autocomplete shows what people ask. It does not confirm co-op, a console date or a hidden mode.
How we researched this hub
Every guide in this cluster starts from the Steam store page, Steam's own announcements and, where relevant, the developer's dated posts. For anything that names a roster, a count or a mechanic, we checked the name against a source we could open, and we left out what we could not confirm. Where the guides disagree with a popular list, the difference is usually that we stopped at what the sources support. The best roguelike games of 2026 list gives the wider genre context.
When the game gets a patch that changes a number here, we update the relevant guide and the "Updated" line at the top of it. The date on this hub's frontmatter tracks the last time we re-checked the Steam facts.
