The Rune Dice Update went live on October 1 at 15:00 UTC with two new Adventure modes, Boss Rush and Skirmish Mode. The official Steam post also documents reward, shop, and skip changes, making this a systems update as well as two new activities.

Overview of the Rune Dice Update

Boss Rush is a 20-floor descent made entirely of mini-boss and boss fights, ending with three bosses at once. Skirmish is a constrained shop and boss test where the coin budget becomes the score. The Rune Dice Update is live now.

At the live check on October 2, Steam listed Rune Dice at $11.24 after a 25% Autumn Sale discount through October 8, with 1,386 all-purchase reviews labeled Very Positive.

Key Takeaways

  • Boss Rush has 20 floors, cross-class reward dice, two reward picks per win, and a Deepest Floor Cleared record for each class.
  • Skirmish has one shop and one boss, with a budget slider from Broke Genius to Rich Baron.
  • Boss Rush skips and Classic boss or mini-boss skips now give capped +15 HP instead of gold.
  • Reward and shop rerolls avoid repeating relics and runes within their current screen or shop visit.
  • Turkish, Italian, Czech, and Vietnamese are now available.

What Happened in the Rune Dice Update

Boss Rush is a one-way descent through only mini-boss and boss fights. The official post says there are twenty floors, with each one harder than the last, and three bosses at the end. Reward dice can come from any class rather than only the class being played. Each win offers two reward picks, while gold limits rerolls. Every class tracks its own Deepest Floor Cleared record.

Skirmish Mode is built around a single purchase phase and a single fight. Players set a coin budget with a slider that runs from Broke Genius to Rich Baron, pick a boss, and use a shop containing only dice and relics. Rerolls are free, selling refunds the full price, and the budget itself is the score. Replay Battle restarts the same fight against the same boss from the defeat screen with the build already purchased.

The Rune Dice Update also tightens repeated offers. A reward screen does not show the same relic or rune twice, including across rerolls and the second pick. Dice count as the same only when both die type and face value match. A new chest, boss, or node begins a fresh pool. Shop rerolls keep shown relics and runes out during that shop visit, while dice are unaffected. If unique items run out, the shop pool resets.

Skipping a reward after a boss or mini-boss now gives +15 HP instead of gold in Classic and after every Boss Rush boss. The healing is capped at max HP, and the healing reward is removed from that offer pool. Chests, regular fights, and Skirmish are unchanged, so their skip reward remains gold. Four languages also arrive: Turkish, Italian, Czech, and Vietnamese.

Why It Matters for the Rune Dice Update

This Rune Dice Update changes assumptions in several existing references. The Rune Dice class tier list does not cover cross-class Boss Rush rewards or per-class floor records. The relics guide needs to account for non-repeating reward and shop rerolls, while the boss guide predates the new skip healing and Boss Rush finale. The Classic Mode guide also needs its skip section checked.

The complete Rune Dice guide hub remains useful for the existing systems, including the New Game Plus guide, physics dice system, and beginner guide, but none replaces the official mode rules. The Rune Dice Update is a narrow news hook for a crowded cluster, so confirmed changes matter more than build advice.
