Voidling Bound
Voidling Bound takes the one part of monster taming that always felt passive, watching your creature fight, and puts you straight inside it. Hatchery Games launched the sci-fi action game on June 9, 2026, and its pitch is simple: you do not command the monster, you are the monster.
Voidling Bound is a sci-fi third-person shooter where you play a Space Wrangler who directly controls creatures called Voidlings. You pilot them in real-time combat, evolve them along branching paths, and reclaim planets overrun by corruption. It blends creature collecting and evolution with hands-on action rather than turn-based or auto-battling combat.
Pokemon-style games keep a wall between you and the creature. You issue orders, the monster acts. Voidling Bound removes that wall. As a Space Wrangler you take direct control of a Voidling and fight in third person: shoot, slash, slam, and blast, then evade, block, or parry incoming hits, sprint and dash across biomes, and charge devastating ultimate abilities for the toughest foes.
That changes what "team building" means. Your creature is not a stat block you send into battle; it is your character for that fight. The taming and collecting layer still matters, but it feeds an action game rather than a tactics one. Each Voidling carries its own attributes and Genes. Branching evolution paths decide elemental alignment, look, and playstyle.
The evolution screen is where Voidling Bound shows its depth. A creature like the Exotic-rarity Venomous Kerapin has attributes you raise (Strength, Essence, Vitality, Recuperation, Agility) and a Genes system layered on top. Branching paths let you push the same base creature toward different elemental alignments and playstyles, which is the customization hook that gives the collecting loop a reason to keep experimenting.
The promise is that no two Wranglers build the same roster. Whether the branching paths are deep enough to back that up is the thing to test once players have spent real time min-maxing.
