Far Far West Gamba Machine: Odds, Cost and Is It Worth It

7 min readBy Priya NairLast reviewed

The Far Far West Gamba Machine is the slot machine in Town that trades 250 Souls for one random Joker. It looks like a shortcut to Legendaries, but the numbers say it is a slow one.

About the game

Far Far West

This guide covers where the machine is, the odds the game shows, what you can and cannot roll, and how a spin compares with buying the Joker you want.

TL;DR: The Gamba Machine sits in Town near the Spell Hut and costs 250 Souls per spin. Odds are Normal 25%, Fine 35%, Prime 20%, Mythic 16% and Legendary 4%. A spin is worth about 393 Souls in shop prices on average, but only half that if you sell it, so spin for Jokers you will use and buy the ones you need.

What is the Far Far West Gamba Machine? (quick answer)

The Far Far West Wiki describes it as a Town structure where "players can get a random Joker for 250 Souls." Jokers are the perk cards you equip on your hero and weapons, and any Joker you get in Town is "permanently owned unless sold."

Far Far West is an Early Access co-op shooter from Evil Raptor and Fireshine Games, out since April 28, 2026 at $19.99 on Steam. Our complete guide covers the rest of the game.

Where is the Gamba Machine?

It is in the Town, the hub between missions. The wiki's caption puts it "near the Spell Hut," and its Town page lists it among the primary locations with the Saloon, Dr. Spark-Twist's Lab and the Spell Hut.

Gamba Machine odds and what each tier is worth

The odds below come from the wiki. Evil Raptor's Hotfix 3 notes (Version 601, May 2026) say "The Gamba Machine now displays the odds," so the machine itself shows them before you spend.

RarityOddsShop buy priceSaloon sell priceJokers in tier

Prime20%500 Souls250 Souls26
Mythic16%800 Souls400 Souls26
Legendary4%1,200 Souls600 Souls19

Prices come from the individual Joker pages on the wiki, and every page that listed a price matched the others in its tier. The sell column follows the wiki's rule that the Saloon refunds Jokers "for half their face value."

What you cannot get from the Gamba

There are 149 Jokers in total, but the machine does not cover all of them. Unique Jokers, 26 weapon-specific cards, do not appear in the odds list at all. The wiki also warns that "Some Jokers are not obtainable in the Lobby at all, and can only be found during missions."

We checked every Legendary page on the wiki. At least 14 of the 19 list the Gamba Machine as a source. Four list missions only: Camper, Dwarf, Extra Dash and Giant. One page, Coinflip, did not say. If you are spinning for one of those four, the machine cannot give it to you, and our jokers tier list shows which of them are worth hunting in runs.

Is the Gamba Machine worth it?

Here is the math, worked out from the odds and prices above. It assumes every Joker in a tier is equally likely, which the wiki does not confirm.

  • Average shop value of one spin: 0.25 x 50 + 0.35 x 300 + 0.20 x 500 + 0.16 x 800 + 0.04 x 1,200 = 393.5 Souls.
  • Average resale value: half that, about 197 Souls, against the 250 you paid.
  • Rolling a Legendary: 4% means 25 spins on average, or 6,250 Souls. A Legendary in the shop costs 1,200.

So the Gamba is a good deal only if you keep what it gives you. Spinning to sell loses about 53 Souls per spin on average. Spinning to find one specific Legendary is the worst use of it, because you also have to hit the right card among the 14 or so the machine can roll.

One player put the design well in a thread about adding more gambling: "Gamba as it is now is a definitive pay for a reward deal, a randomizer shop instead of "gambling" and you can sell what you dont want from it."

Step-by-Step: spending Souls without wasting them

This follows the wiki's prices and odds. We have not tested drop weighting ourselves.

1. Farm Souls in missions: the wiki says they drop from enemies, Haunted Structures, side objectives and the Wishing Well. Walk under floating Souls, because one that disappears is lost.

2. Check the shop first: if the Joker you want is for sale at Dr. Spark-Twist's Lab, buying it costs less than chasing it with spins.

3. Spin when you have open slots: you start with 14 Joker slots, 16 after Prestige, so early spins fill gaps cheaply.

4. Read the odds screen before each session: the machine has shown them since Hotfix 3, and a later patch could change them.

5. Sell what you will never equip: the Saloon pays half price. Gag Normals like Rubber Duck sell for 25 Souls.

6. Unequip before moving Jokers: a Joker on one gun is not free for another until you take it off.

The gag Jokers and Joker Dealer

Four Normal Jokers do nothing useful: Rubber Duck, Chickshot, Party Shot and Shine Bright all end their description with "Useless!" They make up part of the 25% Normal roll, which is why low-tier spins often feel wasted.

Players disagree on whether they should stay. One reply that got the most upvotes in a recent thread pointed out a use: "You can punch them for uranium or store them to stack up on joker dealer. They arn't the end of the world." Joker Dealer is a Mythic that gives "+1 HP for each active Joker," so filler cards count. Another player said that "now thats there's white jokers that actually matter I don't like them existing."

In an older beginner thread, a player explained why a fresh pull might not show up on a new gun: "If a joker is equipped on a gun, it is not available on another gun unless you unequip it from the first gun."

Our take

This is a research page built from the wiki and the patch notes, not a log of our own spins. The numbers are clear enough to act on: the Gamba Machine is a fair way to fill empty slots with Jokers you will use, and a poor way to make Souls or chase one named Legendary. If you know what you want, check the shop first. Our beginner guide and best weapons guide help decide what is worth equipping.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the Gamba Machine in Far Far West? It is in the Town, the hub you return to between missions. The Far Far West Wiki places it near the Spell Hut. It is one of the Town's main locations, alongside the Saloon and Dr. Spark-Twist's Lab.

How much does the Gamba Machine cost? Each spin costs 250 Souls and gives you one random Joker. Souls drop from enemies and Haunted Structures during missions, and you can also get them by selling Jokers at the Saloon.

What are the Gamba Machine odds? The wiki lists Normal 25%, Fine 35%, Prime 20%, Mythic 16% and Legendary 4%. The machine has shown its odds in game since Hotfix 3 in May 2026, so check the screen if a patch changes them.

Is the Gamba Machine worth it? Only if you want to keep what you roll. On average a spin returns about 393 Souls of shop value but only about 197 if you sell it. A specific Legendary costs 1,200 Souls to buy, while rolling one takes 25 spins on average.

Can you get every Joker from the Gamba Machine? No. Unique Jokers are not in the odds list, and the wiki says some Jokers only drop during missions. Of the 19 Legendaries, at least four, including Camper and Giant, list missions as their only source.

What should I do with useless Jokers from the Gamba? Sell them at the Saloon for half their buy price. A Normal Joker sells for 25 Souls. Some players keep the gag Jokers instead to stack Joker Dealer, which gives 1 HP per active Joker.
