Football Manager 27 Release Date: Nov 10 and Launch Preview

Four days out: the five-day free preview is over, pre-purchasers keep playing, and every save started since October 29 carries into the full game.

VerdictIf you played during the free preview and liked it, pre-purchasing before November 10 costs $53.99 instead of $59.99 on Steam and keeps your save running; Game Pass subscribers don't need to buy at all.

The Football Manager 27 release date is November 10, 2026, four days from now. Sports Interactive and SEGA launch it on Steam, Epic Games and the Xbox PC app, with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass included, and FM27 Console and FM27 Mobile arrive the same day. Sports Interactive made the Launch Preview free for five days, from 6pm GMT on October 29 to 6pm GMT on November 3, and says a save started then carries into the full game: pre-purchasing keeps the Launch Preview running until launch.

Football Manager 27

Football Manager 27 release date and platforms

Sports Interactive announced the date on September 29: FM27 is "launching globally from 10 November". The same post lists the PC day one platforms, then adds that "FM27 Console (Xbox/PS5), including Game Pass Console subscribers, and FM27 Mobile (Netflix) will also launch from 10 November". FM27 Touch follows on Apple Arcade the same day for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV, and the existing FM26 Touch page on the App Store updates to FM27 Touch automatically.

Sports Interactive's posts give the date but no time. Steam's store page does: its data has FM27 unlocking at 16:00 UTC on November 10, and the page says the game "plans to unlock in approximately 5 days" (we read it at 02:52 UTC on November 5). That is 11am Eastern, 8am Pacific and 4pm in the UK. In Singapore it is already midnight on November 11, which is why SEGA's Asia site says "Out 11 November": each store and regional site shows the date in its own time zone.

How the Launch Preview works after the free preview

The Launch Preview is this year's name for the early build. Sports Interactive says it "replaces what has previously been titled Beta / Advanced Access" and is meant to be "closer in quality and finality to launch than previous early play builds". The plan announced on October 21 made it free on Steam, Epic, the Microsoft Store and both PC Game Pass tiers from 6pm GMT on October 29 to November 3, with "no additional sign-up required" and all game modes available.

From 6pm GMT on November 3, Sports Interactive says the preview carries on only for two groups:

  1. Pre-purchasers. Buying before launch gives 10% off and "continued Launch Preview access" until November 10. The footnote matters: this "only applies to those purchasing via SEGA-approved digital retailers". The SI community team's Reddit post says pre-purchase opens on October 29 "for Steam and Epic", and the Epic Games Store's own news post puts it at 18:00 UTC, the same moment the free preview began.
  2. Game Pass subscribers. "If you've started writing your story on Game Pass, you'll be able to continue your journey through your subscription." The Launch Preview itself is limited to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

On saves, Sports Interactive's line is plain: "All saves started during the free play period can be continued through to both the paid Launch Preview and full launch without the need to start again." Expect a few gaps, though. The preview "may contain data that does not, at this time, accurately reflect real world data", and "some club and player assets may be absent".

Sports Interactive's feature list so far centres on three areas: "smarter navigation and a more intuitive full-screen experience", a wider football world through "Cup Draws, Transfer Deadline Day, and an overhauled news feed", and match days with "dynamic new cutscenes" and "major updates to crowds, weather, and lighting". The preview announcement adds an "enhanced match engine", Tactical Tweaks on the touchline and Tactical Effectiveness, which Sports Interactive's training deep dive describes as "a brand-new system" to "connect your training schedules with your tactical style and football philosophy". On the licensing side, the French women's top flight, the Arkema Première Ligue, is in with official club logos, kits and player photos.

Football Manager 27 PC requirements

The Steam page asks for a 64-bit system and 20 GB of storage either way.

MinimumRecommended

On Mac, the minimum is macOS 13 or later on an Apple M1 or an Intel Core M with 6 GB of RAM.

Football Manager 27 price and pre-purchase discount

Pre-purchase opened on October 29, and the price came with it. On Steam, Football Manager 27 is $59.99 in the US and £49.99 in the UK, and the pre-purchase promotion takes 10% off to $53.99 and £44.99; the Steam page says the "Offer ends November 10", launch day. The Xbox Store shows the same figures with a pre-order tag, and Epic's listing carries the same cut. The full price matches Football Manager 26, still $59.99 on Steam, so FM27 costs no more than last year's game.

Store (checked October 30, 2026)Full pricePre-purchase price
Steam, US$59.99$53.99 (offer ends November 10)
Steam, UK£49.99£44.99
Xbox Store, US$59.99$53.99
Xbox Store, UK£49.99£44.99

The discount and the paid Launch Preview only count when you buy from "SEGA-approved digital retailers". Sports Interactive's post does not name them, and its community team's Reddit post names Steam and Epic for pre-purchase, so buy from an official store: Football Manager 27 on Steam or on the Xbox Store. Eneba, the key shop we use, only lists FM27 as a Europe-region Steam key so far, with no Global key, so we don't link it. Our call: $6 off is not a reason to buy on its own; a preview save you want to keep is.

What players say

The free preview announcement split r/footballmanagergames. Under the official post, u/sleepytoday wrote: "The reviews and reception put me off 26 so I'm still on 24. I was planning on staying away from 27 because I don't expect much improvement, but with a free weekend I will definitely give it a go and make up my own mind."

Not everyone read it as confidence. u/SanArutha argued the free preview is "less of them being confident about the game" and more about players who dislike it not buying, so the game "won't be flooded with negative reviews like last year". Another reply, from u/mister_greeenman, put it this way: "It's amazing if FM26 was your intro to the game. Otherwise it's just about inching back to where FM24 already was."

Our take

A five-day free preview with saves that carry over is a useful change for buyers, because the decision no longer rests on trailers. If you started a preview save you want to keep, pre-purchasing at $53.99 is $6 cheaper than waiting for launch and doesn't cost you any days with it. If you are on Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass, there is nothing to buy. And if FM26 put you off, your own hours in the preview build are a better test than any feature video or article, ours included; we only have Sports Interactive's word and players' reactions here. For another management loop to weigh it against, our Sintopia review covers a very different one.

How we checked this

We read Sports Interactive's posts on footballmanager.com from August 27 to October 21, 2026 (launch date, Launch Preview, FM27 Touch, licensing), the FM27 and FM26 Steam store pages and their store data on October 26, the official announcement thread on r/footballmanagergames and the official gameplay preview on YouTube. On October 29 we re-read the Launch Preview post for the five-day window and read Sports Interactive's Training and Tactical Effectiveness deep dive on SEGA's FM27 site. On October 30, the day after pre-purchase opened, we read the FM27 price from Steam's store data (US and UK), the Xbox Store pages (US and UK) and Epic's listing, and checked Eneba for a key. We first wrote this on October 26, before the free preview began, and on November 1 re-checked its end date against Sports Interactive's October 29 Steam announcement: free play ran "until 6pm (GMT) on 3 November". On November 5 we read the unlock time from the FM27 Steam page and the release date on SEGA's Asia site. We have not played FM27; dates and terms are as Sports Interactive announced them. Other autumn launch coverage: Steam Scream Fest dates and deals, the Phantom Blade Zero release date and, for Game Pass value, our Fogpiercer Game Pass review.
