Risk of Rain 2 Offering of the Collective: Accept or Reject?

Two offerings stand between you and the Alloyed Collective ending. The one at SPEX is a key check; the Solus Heart's is a real choice.

VerdictReject by default: you keep the run, get a legendary and can still reach Voidling. Accept only for Artificer, Bandit, Captain, Loader or REX skins.

The Risk of Rain 2 Offering of the Collective comes after you beat the Solus Heart, the Alloyed Collective's final boss. Accept it and the run ends with 5 lunar coins for everyone. Reject it by killing the Heart and you get a legendary item and a portal onward. We'd reject on almost every run. The exception is a skin hunt for one of five survivors, covered below.

Players also search for a "leave offering" step, and that one comes earlier, at SPEX in the Computational Exchange. That offering is a key check, not a choice, so we'll clear it first.

The SPEX offering: what to leave and what happens

The Computational Exchange is a Hidden Realm added in Alloyed Collective, which launched on November 18, 2025. You reach it through the Mainline Portal that opens after you beat the Solus Wing in Solutional Haunt. If you've already beaten the Solus Wing that run, the Virtual Portals from the False Son and the Alloy Worship Unit send you there too.

In front of SPEX sits a glowing orb, the Charity Shrine. It takes any item that is not Lunar, Void, Meal or Equipment. It only keeps one thing: the Exposed Cerebellum. Offer that and the orb opens a Decrypted Portal to the Neural Sanctum, where the Solus Heart waits. Anything else is dropped back on the ground, and you get three such drops before the Cerebellum becomes the only option.

Making the Exposed Cerebellum takes two steps:

  1. Beat the Solus Wing. It always drops the Encrypted Cerebellum.
  2. Take it to the Wandering CHEF, behind the waterfall to the left of SPEX, and combine it with a Sentry Key, Prison Matrix, Rusted Key, Encrusted Key, Empathy Cores or Orphaned Core.

Our pick for the second ingredient is a Rusted Key if you have a spare. It is the cheapest thing on that list to give up.

Don't hit SPEX by accident

SPEX can't be killed without mods, but it can still throw you out. If its health drops below 90%, it steals a random item and locks you out of the shop until you re-enter the realm. One player found that out the hard way: "when I tried to offer the required item to SPEX they... instantly died and kicked me out.... I didn't know fireworks triggered when offering to SPEX" (r/riskofrain). If you carry a stack of Bundle of Fireworks, that is the item to worry about when you walk up to the orb.

The three spare drops are useful too. The orb is a clean way to pass an item to a teammate in multiplayer, or to set something aside before you use a printer.

Accept vs reject: the Offering of the Collective, side by side

Once the Solus Heart hits 0 HP, it falls to the bottom of the arena and offers to assimilate you into the Collective. Interact with it to accept. Kill it to reject.

Winner per axis

Keeping the run: reject. Accepting is the end. Rejecting gives you a legendary and the portal onward, and if you own Survivors of the Void it also opens the way to the Void Locus and Voidling in the same run.

Loot: reject. Patch 1.4.1 on December 9, 2025 widened the Solus Heart's loot pool to include Hardlight Afterburner, Orphaned Core and Spare Drone Parts. With the Artifact of Command on, you get a red Command Essence and can pick any legendary.

Lunar coins: accept. The 5 coins go to every player in the lobby, which makes accepting a decent coin payout for a group that is done with the run anyway.

Skins: it depends who you're playing. Each of the eleven non-DLC survivors has a skin tied to one answer. Playing Artificer, Bandit, Captain, Loader or REX? Accept once. Playing Acrid, Commando, Engineer, Huntress, Mercenary or MUL-T? Reject. The Reddit thread arguing which survivor would accept or purge is a fun read on why each one lands where it does.

Logbook: reject. The Neural Sanctum's environment log only appears after you refuse the offer and kill the Heart.

Two things that change the choice

Eclipse takes it away. On Eclipse, the game rejects the offering for you when the Solus Heart reaches the bottom of the arena. Eclipse only allows a run to end by escaping the moon or beating Voidling, so the Accept and Decompile skins can't be earned there. Do your accept runs on a normal difficulty.

SPEX closes after you reject. Once the Solus Heart is dead in a run, SPEX stops taking offerings. There is no second trip to the Neural Sanctum that run.

Our take

Reject is the right default. It keeps your run alive, hands you a legendary, and on a Survivors of the Void save it lines up a Voidling kill in the same run. Accept is a tool for two jobs: banking 5 lunar coins for the whole lobby when everyone is done anyway, and the five Accept and Decompile skins. Plan those on a normal-difficulty run with the right survivor, take the coins, and go back to rejecting.

How we checked this

We haven't played through Alloyed Collective for this guide, so none of the above is hands-on. The offering rules, item lists and skin split come from the community Risk of Rain 2 Wiki (wiki.gg) pages for the Computational Exchange, Solus Heart, Neural Sanctum, Encrypted Cerebellum and Exposed Cerebellum, read on October 23, 2026. The loot pool change and the decompiling-scene fix come from Gearbox's patch 1.4.1 notes on Steam, and the launch date and stage list from the Steam store and launch announcement. Player stories come from two r/riskofrain posts, linked where quoted.

We stepped through Gearbox's launch trailer at two-second intervals. Its "New Final Boss" card appears at 0:45, over the arena shown above; the trailer never names the boss.
