Risk of Rain 2 Seeker Build: Best Items, Skills and Unlocks

Seeker's best build keeps her in the air: Soul Spiral barrier feeds Sojourn, and seven Tranquility stacks make her a medic who can't stay dead.

VerdictRun Soul Spiral, Sojourn and Meditate, stack Backup Magazines and Focus Crystals, and take Palm Blast only if Meditate's button prompts keep costing you stacks.

A Risk of Rain 2 Seeker build is about one thing: staying in Sojourn longer than the game expects. Seeker flies as a fireball that gets stronger every second, and every Soul Spiral hit hands her barrier to stay up. Seven stacks of Tranquility later she heals the whole team and revives herself.

About the game

Risk of Rain 2

Gearbox Software · Gearbox Publishing

She came with the Seekers of the Storm DLC on August 27, 2024, and she's unlocked by default once you own it. Gearbox rebuilt her kit in the May 5, 2025 update (V1.3.8), adding a self-revive and two alternate skills.

The Risk of Rain 2 Seeker build we'd run first

The wiki lists 115 health (+34 per level), 12 damage and 20 armor. Gearbox's own pitch for her in Dev Diary #3 was "an enlightened mid-range brawler", and her numbers fit: she hits hard up close and leans on barrier and healing instead of a big health pool.

SlotOur pickAlternativeWhy
PassiveInner StrengthnoneSkills scale with Tranquility, up to 7 stacks
PrimarySpirit Punchnone250% piercing fists, every third hit explodes for 350%
SecondarySoul SpiralUnseen Hand3 charges of orbiting orbs; every orb hit gives barrier
UtilitySojournReprieveStunning flight that gains 500% explosion damage per second
SpecialMeditatePalm BlastHeals allies, grants Tranquility, revives the team from stack 7

Tranquility is the engine. Each successful Meditate gives a stack, and per the wiki, each stack adds +50% to Spirit Punch's third hit, +200% to Meditate's blast and +4% to its heal. At 7 stacks Gearbox's notes say she "can now self-revive", and any further successful Meditate revives dead teammates.

How to unlock Soul Spiral, Reprieve and Palm Blast

Three of her skills sit behind challenges. Names and conditions are from Steam's official achievement list; the last column is the share of Risk of Rain 2 players who have each one, from Steam's global stats on October 23, 2026.

UnlocksChallengeOfficial conditionPlayers with it
Soul SpiralSeeker: Airborne SoulsHit three or more airborne enemies with a single use of the exploding third hit of Spirit Punch9.5%
Palm BlastSeeker: Clear MindMeditate 20 times without missing an input in a single run6.5%
ReprieveSeeker: Scorched EarthDeal 500,000% damage with one use of Sojourn's explosion2.9%

Airborne Souls is the one to do first. It takes a single well-placed third punch: the explosion has a 7 m radius on the wiki, so wait until three airborne enemies bunch up before you throw it.

Clear Mind is about consistency, not damage. Gearbox's V1.3.9 notes "clarified" that the 20 Meditate inputs "need to be in a row", so a single fumble resets your count. Do it in an early, quiet stage of a long run rather than in a teleporter fight.

Scorched Earth is the hard one, at 2.9%. Gearbox's V1.3.9 notes say "Shaped Glass's damage increase will now contribute" toward it, so a run with Shaped Glass and a long Sojourn into a boss is the route that note points to.

Build 1: Soul Spiral and the long Sojourn

This is the build we'd pick for solo runs. Sojourn on its own is a trade: after 1.4 seconds of flight, the wiki says she starts losing 5% of her base health every 0.2 seconds, and she's ejected below 15% health. In exchange, she's immune to all other damage while flying and the explosion gains 500% per second after the first one.

Soul Spiral is what breaks that trade. Each orb hit grants 3.45 barrier (+1.15 per Tranquility), the orbs don't vanish during Sojourn, and the wiki's top tip is exactly this pairing: Soul Spiral's barrier on hit means "a huge increase in Sojourn uptime as long as Seeker is hitting enemies". On r/riskofrain, u/Hyper_Goner69 called her alternate secondary "the (better) alt m2" and added: "You dont really nead to focus on barrier because she generates it already".

One more wiki note worth knowing: Sojourn lets you activate interactables, and because she ignores damage in flight, a Shrine of Blood or a Void Cradle costs her no health as long as her health is above what it asks. That's extra loot without the health cost.

Six items carry this build. Numbers are from the wiki:

ItemRarityWhy it works on Seeker
Backup MagazineWhite+1 Secondary charge per stack; Soul Spiral in the air also lifts her a little, so more charges means more air control
Focus CrystalWhite+20% damage per stack to enemies within 13 m, and she fights at close range anyway
Rose BucklerGreen+30 armor while sprinting, and Sojourn counts as sprinting
Luminous ShotGreenEach Secondary use stores a charge; at 3, Spirit Punch fires lightning for 175% total damage and Secondary cooldown drops 20%. Soul Spiral's three charges fill it fast
RazorwireGreenSojourn's self-damage triggers it, which the wiki says makes it better on her than on other survivors
Repulsion Armor Plate, Planula, Tougher TimesVariousBoth community wikis list all three as items that keep her health up during Sojourn, so she flies longer

Players in an r/riskofrain thread on Seeker items back the same picks. "Her being mostly close-range makes Focus Crystal work without issue," wrote u/PokeAust, who called Luminous Shot with Soul Spiral "really good". "Repulsion armor plate is so good for her default utility skill," u/ItsStarStrike added.

The Lunar pick is Transcendence. The wiki's Sojourn tips explain why: it sets her max health to 1, so each self-damage tick costs 1 shield point and never counts toward the 15% ejection threshold. She can stay in flight "near-indefinitely" while the explosion keeps growing. Players call it her strongest combo: in an October 27 thread, u/Luckyloomagu wrote that with it Sojourn keeps growing "while only dealing 1 damage to you". It converts your health to shields, so take it knowingly.

Build 2: Reprieve and Palm Blast for team play

Both alternates came in the V1.3.8 revamp. Gearbox described Reprieve as the skill for "when you're trying to bunch a group of enemies together": she gains barrier equal to 20% of her max health and flies until it's gone or she hits something, then drops a 20 m cyclone that pulls enemies in, deals 200% damage per second and heals allies. Unlike Sojourn, she's not immune while flying. Since V1.3.9 it can crit, and the October 8, 2026 Hallowed Concepts patch "Fixed Seeker's Reprieve and Volcanic Egg getting you out of bounds".

Palm Blast is Gearbox's answer for players who miss Meditate's prompts: "it's okay to admit if you have trouble with the button combos, there's no shame in it." It charges in 0.7 seconds for 400% to 700% damage, heals allies it passes through, and hitting three characters (enemies or allies) in one shot grants a Tranquility stack.

We'd still keep Meditate. Per the wiki, its blast reaches 1,700% damage, a 32% heal and a 70 m radius at max Tranquility, and every successful Meditate from the 7th on revives every dead player Seeker hasn't already revived on that stage. Palm Blast is the safer pick in a chaotic co-op lobby where you can't stand still for five inputs.

Spirit Punch and Unseen Hand

Spirit Punch is her only primary: 250% fists that pierce and slow, and every third hit explodes for 350%, gaining +50% per Tranquility stack. The full three-hit combo takes 2.06 seconds on the wiki's frame data. Gearbox's advice from the reveal still holds: "map out your attacks so the third punch can claim a large clump of monsters."

Unseen Hand is her default secondary: a 600% stunning hand from the ground on a 6-second cooldown that heals her for 3.5% of the damage dealt, rising to 31.5% at max Tranquility. It's the better pick before you unlock Soul Spiral, and the wiki notes either one can cancel fall damage.

Seeker build mistakes

The costliest mistake is diving into a crowd straight out of a long Sojourn. Healing received drops 10% per second of flight and only returns when you land, and Gearbox's own warning is blunt: "I'd avoid flinging yourself into a horde of enemies after you just took a lengthy Sojourn." Fire your equipment before take-off too, because skills and equipment are locked out while she flies.

Meditate punishes rushing. You get five inputs in five seconds; a wrong input costs a second, and a failed sequence adds 5 seconds to the cooldown. And don't plan around the revive early: it needs 7 Tranquility stacks and, in Gearbox's words, works "once per stage", because the Saving Grace buff is removed when it saves you.

Our take

Unlock Soul Spiral first. It's the easiest challenge and the skill that makes Sojourn worth flying. Run Spirit Punch, Soul Spiral, Sojourn and Meditate, grab every Backup Magazine and Focus Crystal, and add Repulsion Armor Plate once your flights get long enough to hurt. Palm Blast and Reprieve are good, but they're the co-op build, not the first one.

If she clicks, the next challenge to aim for is Eclipse: Seeker's self-revive is the kind of safety net those runs punish you for lacking.

How we checked this

We haven't run Seeker ourselves, so this is not hands-on advice. Skill numbers, Tranquility scaling and item tips come from the Risk of Rain 2 wiki's Seeker, Focus Crystal and Luminous Shot pages, read on October 23, 2026. Challenge conditions and completion rates come from Steam's official achievement list and global stats the same day. Gearbox's words come from SOTS Dev Diary #3, the May 2025 relaunch post, Update Notes V1.3.8 and V1.3.9 and the Hallowed Concepts notes on Steam. Player quotes come from one r/riskofrain thread on Seeker items.

We stepped through Gearbox's Seeker Survivor Showcase Trailer for the screenshots. Her title card appears at 0:11, Spirit Punch at 0:21, Unseen Hand at 0:27, Sojourn at 0:33 and Soul Spiral at 0:51.
