ARC Raiders 1.27 dropped May 5 — Turbine visibility fixes, grenade exploit patched, audio overhaul, and Embark's direct response to Riven Tides backlash.

ARC Raiders 1.27 is a cleanup patch, not a content drop. Embark shipped it on May 5, 2026, less than a week after the Riven Tides update landed — and the quick turnaround tells you something about how that week went for the studio.
Riven Tides (patch 1.26.0) dropped April 30 with the coastal map, the ARC Turbine, Beachcombing, and a wave of weapon economy changes. By the following week, ARC Raiders had fallen to a Mixed rating in recent Steam reviews. Players objected primarily to two things: weapon durability being cut (average spawned weapon durability dropped from 50 to 30 in 1.26.0) and the Riven Tides map feeling undercooked relative to expectations.
Embark responded quickly. On May 5, 1.27.0 shipped with targeted fixes for the most reported bugs. The studio released a note confirming it was "already exploring balancing adjustments to improve upon the changes introduced with Riven Tides" — but that no balance changes would appear in this update. That decision, to fix bugs first and tune balance separately, is consistent with how Embark handled similar situations during The Finals' post-launch period.
Riven Tides sits on the western coast of the Rust Belt — a stretch of deserted shoreline the lore describes as abandoned twice over, first during the Exodus and again by First Wave survivors. Three zones define the map's loop:
The Beachcombing mechanic is Riven Tides' most distinctive addition. When the condition is active, players find the Dockmaster's Detector (a common gadget) and sweep sand patches to unearth buried loot. Richer spawns concentrate in open beach areas, which makes Beachcombing rounds more exposed than the typical looting loop on Stella Montis or the Dam.
The ARC Turbine is the map's new major threat — a floating aerial machine that patrols the sky, "calm and docile" until engaged. Its toolset includes proximity mines it deploys from the air and AoE attacks that were invisible at range before 1.27.0 fixed that. Community reception has been mixed-to-negative. A common complaint is that it feels less like a "large ARC threat" and more like a tracking helicopter. Embark hasn't addressed the design criticism yet, only the bugs.
Patch 1.26.0 also added four new items tied to the map: the Powered Descender (Epic gadget for controlled descent), the Crash Mat (Uncommon throwable, breaks falls for squadmates), the White Flag (Common deployable), and the Dockmaster's Detector.

The patch itself is routine. The context isn't.
ARC Raiders launched in October 2025 to broadly positive reception — "Very Positive" on Steam across tens of thousands of reviews. Riven Tides cracked that streak. On its worst day, the update saw 285 negative reviews against 154 positive. Players compared the response to the Helldivers 2 review bomb patterns, where a single systems-level change produced outsized community backlash.
The weapon durability cut in 1.26.0 is the real flashpoint. Dropping average spawned weapon durability from 50 to 30 hits budget loadouts harder than high-tier gear — a common complaint was that it punished players who weren't already established, right when a new map should have been the draw. Embark's comment that it's "exploring balancing adjustments" without specifics is a holding pattern, not a resolution.
What 1.27.0 does successfully is eliminate the most embarrassing bugs: an invisible boss attack, an exploit that removed counterplay from grenades, and audio that made the whole soundscape collapse near the Turbine. These were functional problems that needed to go before any balance conversation could happen honestly.
Whether the balance patch arrives before the Last Resort event closes on May 25 is the question the community is watching. If it doesn't, Riven Tides will spend its entire event window under the shadow of the durability nerf.

What is in ARC Raiders update 1.27.0? Update 1.27.0 is a bug-fix and polish patch released May 5, 2026. It corrects Turbine visibility problems at range, patches a grenade exploit that allowed instant detonation, fixes audio where Turbine sound effects were drowning out other game sounds, and addresses several Riven Tides map-specific bugs including the Field Depot quest not counting correctly.
Does ARC Raiders 1.27.0 include balance changes? No. Embark Studios confirmed this update does not contain weapon or gameplay balance adjustments. However, the studio stated it is actively exploring balance changes in response to community criticism of Riven Tides, particularly around weapon durability. Those changes are expected in a future patch.
What is Riven Tides in ARC Raiders? Riven Tides is the game's coastal map added in patch 1.26.0. It features the abandoned Panorama Azzurro hotel, the Exodus port dockyard, and flooded beach routes. It introduced the ARC Turbine aerial enemy, the Beachcombing mechanic, and the Last Resort event.
What is the ARC Turbine and why were players upset about it? The ARC Turbine is a floating aerial ARC machine added in the Riven Tides update. It patrols the sky and engages players with proximity mines and AoE attacks. Community feedback was negative — many players found it repetitive and felt it didn't live up to the "large ARC threat" the roadmap had promised.
Is the Riven Tides update being review bombed? Yes. Following the 1.26.0 Riven Tides release, ARC Raiders dropped to a Mixed rating in recent Steam reviews. On the worst day, the game received 285 negative reviews against 154 positive. Main complaints centered on weapon durability changes and increased PvP pressure. Embark acknowledged the feedback and is working on balance adjustments.
What new cosmetics came with ARC Raiders 1.27.0? The Corsaro Set and the Mutton Chops facial hair bundle are now available in the in-game store. The Rachetta outfit's color accuracy was also corrected, and the Howdy emote was updated so it can trigger while sprinting.
When does the Last Resort event end? The Last Resort event runs through May 25, 2026. It converts XP into Merits during any expedition. Hidden Ship Models — five in total including the Wind Sprite and the Leviathan's Crown — provide bonus Merits based on rarity.
